industry TALKS has asked nearly thirty organizations and entities related to the industrial world for their forecast for this newly started year, including Foro Industria y Energía.
Eduardo Álvarez, Technical Director of Foro Industria y Energía (FIE), emphasized that in 2024, it is expected that 50% of electricity generation will be from renewable sources. “This depends on the weather. Fundamentally, there needs to be water [rain], given that wind and solar behave more stably.” The installed capacity of renewable energies is also growing, the specialist noted, referring to the data provided in the latest Electricity System Report, published by Red Eléctrica in March 2023 with data from 2022. “If we continue on this path, we will become a global power. I am optimistic in this regard.”
